Amazon Luna Relaunch Brings GameNight Party Games to Prime

Amazon Luna Gets Major Overhaul with New Social Gaming Focus

Amazon is preparing to relaunch its cloud gaming service Luna later this year with a completely redesigned interface and significant new features. The revamped service will include a rotating library of games available to Amazon Prime subscribers at no additional cost beyond their existing membership.

In an announcement that was first detailed in a comprehensive blog post, Amazon positions the relaunch as addressing what it calls gaming’s accessibility problem. The company argues that millions of potential gamers feel excluded from traditional gaming platforms due to cost, complexity, or simply not identifying as “gamers.”

GameNight: Social Party Gaming Takes Center Stage

The standout feature of the new Luna service is GameNight, a collection of 25 exclusive party and social games designed specifically for group play. Similar to popular titles like JackBox Party games, these experiences can be controlled entirely through players’ smartphones.

The flagship title for GameNight is Courtroom Chaos: Starring Snoop Dogg, an innovative improv courtroom game that combines human creativity with AI-powered elements. Players create outrageous characters and craft wild stories while defending their testimonies before Judge Snoop Dogg.

Additional confirmed titles include new variations of familiar favorites:

  • Angry Birds
  • Exploding Kittens
  • Flappy Golf Party
  • Taboo
  • Clue
  • Ticket to Ride

Expanded Game Library and Premium Tier

Beyond the social gaming focus, the new Luna introduces a rotating selection of major titles available through cloud streaming. Prime subscribers will have access to a base library including:

  • Hogwarts Legacy
  • Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
  • Kingdom Come: Deliverance II
  • Dave the Diver
  • Dead Island 2
  • Borderlands 3

For gamers seeking even more content, Amazon will offer a premium tier featuring additional major titles such as EA Sports FC 25, LEGO DC Super Villains, Team Sonic Racing, and Batman: Arkham Knight.

Accessibility and Compatibility

The service maintains its device-agnostic approach, supporting any Bluetooth-compatible controller while also working seamlessly with Amazon’s dedicated Luna controller. This flexibility aligns with Amazon’s stated goal of making gaming more accessible to broader audiences.

As originally reported, this overhaul appears to directly address previous criticisms that Luna’s content library, rather than its technical performance, was the service’s primary limitation. The 2025 relaunch represents Amazon’s latest attempt to carve out a significant position in the competitive cloud gaming landscape.
